Our Goal is to Stimulate Downtown Revitalization
Welcome to Monroeville Main Street – Revitalizing Historic Downtown Monroeville, Alabama
Monroeville Main Street is a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing the heart of Monroeville, Alabama — our historic downtown district. Since 2014, we’ve worked to foster economic growth, preserve our community’s rich history, and create a thriving, vibrant downtown that reflects the spirit and character of Monroeville.
Our efforts are guided by the proven Main Street Four-Point Approach®, developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. This strategy includes:
This four-point framework has helped revitalize more than 2,000 communities across the country, generating
billions in reinvestment and creating hundreds of thousands of jobs over the past 40 years.
Monroeville Main Street was formed as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit to unite the efforts of groups that had previously worked independently to improve our town — including the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, Historic Preservation Committee, Chamber of Commerce, and Tourism Board. Today, we serve as the central hub connecting these stakeholders and others in a unified, long-term vision for downtown Monroeville.
We are proud to be one of only 33 Designated Main Street Alabama Communities, and in May 2024, Monroeville made history by becoming Alabama’s first Great American Main Street Award-winning community — a national recognition of our commitment to revitalization, collaboration, and excellence.
Led by Executive Director Anne Marie Bryan and a dedicated 15-member Board of Directors, Monroeville Main Street offers services including:
After 10 years of being located inside the Monroeville/Monroe County Chamber of Commerce building, Monroeville Main Street will relocate to 65 Pineville Road, Suite 2, in Office Park. This move marks a new chapter for our organization as we continue to grow and expand our impact in downtown Monroeville.
Whether you’re a resident, visitor, investor, or business owner, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of historic downtown Monroeville. Call us at 251-408-2014 or stop by to learn more about how you can be part of revitalizing and celebrating our beautiful, storied community.
