MONROEVILLE, ALABAMA · January 13, 2021 – Monroeville Main Street (MMS) released a new video today in which MMS President, Boyd Robinson, along with MMS Executive Director Anne Marie Bryan, announced the official name of its newest Historic Downtown Monroeville, Alabama mural.
The video prominently displays the new mural, located at 29 Pineville Road in downtown Monroeville Alabama, which celebrates the town’s literary icons, among whom are Harper Lee, Truman Capote, Cynthia Tucker, Mark Childress, Mike Stewart, Marva Collins, Riley Kelly, Rheta Grimsley Johnson, Hank Williams and William Barret Travis.
To fund the mural project, Bob McMillan contributed seed money along with a grant challenge which were supplemented with funding from Alabama Pro Health. Artist Johnna Bush, who maintains a studio in Grove Hill where she resides, created and painted the mural design.
