6th Annual Paint the Town Paint Out

Monroeville Main Street invites you to join us for the 6th Annual Paint the Town Paint Out, held in partnership with the Monroeville Literary Festival (MLF)! This three-day celebration of art and storytelling brings plein-air painters from across the region to capture the charm, color, and history of downtown Monroeville.

Experience Art in Action

Throughout the weekend, artists will set up their easels around the Monroeville Courthouse Square and nearby streets to paint scenes of our community in real time. Visitors are encouraged to stroll downtown, meet the artists, watch them work, and see Monroeville come to life on canvas.

This year’s event also includes an educational component with students from Monroeville Middle School, giving young artists a chance to learn from the pros and be inspired by the creative process.

Don’t Miss These Highlights

• Meet the Artists Party – Thursday, February 26, 4:30–6:00 PM
  Stop by The Shop at 66 (66 S. Mt. Pleasant Ave.) to welcome the visiting artists, enjoy refreshments, and preview sample works that will be on display throughout the weekend.
• Plein-Air Painting Days – Friday & Saturday, February 27–28
  Artists will be painting “en plein air” around downtown and the courthouse square. Take a walk, chat with the painters, and see how each captures the light and character of Monroeville.
• Quick Draw Competition – Saturday Morning, February 28
  Watch artists race against the clock to complete a painting in just one hour! The excitement builds as brushes fly and masterpieces take shape before your eyes.
• Wet Paint Sale – Saturday, February 28, 1:30–4:00 PM
  The Shop at 66 transforms into a pop-up gallery featuring freshly finished works—all painted right here in Monroe County! Don’t miss your chance to purchase a one-of-a-kind piece and support local and visiting artists.
