Monroe County Dark Sky Amateur Astronomy Club Meeting

Monroeville Main Street will host the first meeting of the Monroe County Dark Sky Amateur Astronomy Club on the evening of June 30.

The club is being formed as part of the Science Discovery on Main Street initiative to bring together astronomy enthusiasts, beginners, families, students, educators, and anyone curious about the night sky. Future club activities may include stargazing opportunities, telescope nights, guest speakers, hands-on demonstrations, dark sky education, and community science events.

A sign-up sheet will be available earlier that day during the Constellation Trail and Star Guide launch for anyone interested in joining the club or learning more.

The meeting location will be announced in the coming weeks. We invite the community to join us as we begin this exciting new opportunity to explore astronomy and celebrate Monroe County’s dark skies.
